Timi & Leslie Dual Bag: A Review

About a month ago, I pulled the trigger and bought a new diaper bag. I finally decided one the Timi & Leslie Dual Bag because it was marked down an extreme amount. Unfortunately it's not available for purchase on their site right now. I wrote about my first impressions on the bag here. While I liked it a lot at first, and it got us through a trip to the San Diego Zoo that included a blowout and lots of hills.

But now? I'm just not loving it. It might be perfect for some people, but that just wasn't the case for me.

Pros
- It has lots of organizational components and pockets.
- The print is SO cute!
- Includes stroller straps and messenger strap.
- Was able to fit a lot of things inside.

Cons
- The messenger strap was too short for me to use while babywearing. This was the ultimate deal breaker. I wear my bags cross body if I'm wearing and will be walking for a while (i.e. the mall).
- Dual pockets.
- Thin profile didn't allow me to lay anything flat in the bottom, everything had to go vertical.
-Could only fit two cloth diapers, one in each inner pocket.

That being said, the hunt for the perfect diaper bag is still on.
What diaper bag do you have? Do you love it? Have you written about it? Share with me in the comments!

Friday Funday with Sprout Snacks!

On Friday, L and I went to one of the many local splash pads. We'd had our first splash pad experience a few days prior and we're hooked! He crawled around playing in the water, and had a blast, of course! I'd recently received some goodies in the mail from Sprout Foods, and decided this was the perfect day to try them out.

I already knew that we loved Sprout. Their pouches are L's favorite and are a staple in the Boss' pantry, so I was thrilled when Sprout contacted me to try out some new snacks! I received a variety of both the Fruity Yogurt Bites and the Crispy Chews, in a variety of flavors.

L is ten months old with two teeth, but he handles and chews food really well. These snacks have a 'T', or Toddler rating. I knew he could handle the Yogurt Bites, but I was wary about the Chews before I opened them. I opened the package and let L try them, and seeing him chew the pieces thoroughly made me more comfortable. They had a gummy but not sticky consistency, which I liked.

If I didn't pull pieces out of the package fast enough, I was getting shouted at by a ten month old. He's found his voice and isn't afraid to let me know it. You guys, he LOVED them. Both packages we're polished off in record time, and he cried when they were gone. This dude loves food. Can you tell?

Now you can receive $1 off your purchase of either Sprout Foods Yogurt Bites or Crispy Chews by clicking the coupon below! Sprout Snacks are also available for purchase at select retailers. I have only been able to find them at my local Walmart stores thus far.

After you receive your Sprout snacks, don't forget to enter their #SproutSweetie contest! Every month, one sprout sweetie will win a sampler pack full of their favorite Sprout Foods products. How awesome is that?

P's Video Monitor: A Review

After coming into work one morning, my boss described to me the horror that was finding P screaming in terror in the hallway after he'd had an accident.

Their monitor had gone out.
I was immediately sent to Babies R Us and was told to buy the best monitor I could. Given the lack of time, I stood in the store for a good forty-five minutes trying to look up reviews on all the different options. There were a few that I liked but that didn't get good reviews, such as this one. In the end, I decided on the Summer Infant Privacy Plus Series Touch Plus Digital Color Video Monitor. I also picked up the Summer Infant Baby Touch Plus Power Pack, as we would need one charger in the master bedroom, as well as one for the kitchen/my room.

All set up! So simple.

I got it home and installation was a breeze. Took everything out of the box, plugged in the camera, synced it with the monitor, and that was it. SO EASY.
I love the pan and tilt feature and that I can zoom in and out by controls on the monitor. It also comes equipped with a microphone. I'm assuming that it would normally be used to 'virtually' soothe a baby, but I use it to tell P that he needs to lay down and go to sleep. You know, preschooler issues. ;)

It works well for our needs, BUT I have noticed that it doesn't charge all the way and sometimes loses connection, especially when it's near my computer. I don't know if its an interference issue or what...
It always regains connection right away but I fear that one day the monitor will lose connection while I'm asleep, P will wake up, and I won't hear him.

Now that we've had this monitor for a decent amount of time, I would have to say that if it was my money being spent on the product, I wouldn't repurchase it. But alas, it is not. If I had it my way, I would have done THIS. I think it's a genius idea and actually talked to Emily {her blog} about how it works. She still uses it and has never had any problems.
